For over 30 years, I worked as an Emergency Physician final posting in Singapore — a career that gave me an intimate, unfiltered view of human health. I treated heart attacks and strokes, chronic disease complications, toxic exposures, and the slow, cumulative consequences of decades of neglected wellness. I saw what happens when the body is pushed beyond its limits, and when prevention takes a back seat to cure.

And after all those years, one truth became undeniable to me: most of what I treated could have been prevented.

Why I Left Emergency Medicine

When I retired, I faced a question that I suspect many physicians face at the end of a long clinical career: What now?

I could have rested. I had earned it. But the drive that had sustained me through 30 years of emergency medicine — the desire to help people, to make a genuine difference in their health — did not retire with me.

What I wanted was to shift from treating illness to preventing it. From seeing patients one at a time in a crisis to reaching thousands of people before the crisis ever arrived. From prescribing medications to helping people make better daily choices — choices that compound over time into dramatically better health outcomes.

What “Eco-Wellness” Means to Us

The term “eco-wellness” is not marketing language for us. It reflects a genuine philosophy that I developed over decades of clinical practice:
